The Soil Association is the UK’s leading membership charity campaigning for healthy, humane and sustainable food, farming and land use.

The Charity helped to establish and has ongoing involvement in the Soil Association Land Trust.  The Land Trust is a charity in its own right, charity number 1121011, established to acquire and maintain farmland sustainably and to connect the public with land stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

About you

We’re looking for a driven and imaginative individual who:

  • Has the skills and passion to drive results through multi-channel marketing.
  • Is an excellent communicator and who can inspire action in diverse audiences.
  • Can develop, own and deliver on our acquisition strategy to help fund the growth of our organisation.


  • A confident all-round B2B marketeer
  • Comfortable in an account and project management role
  • Highly collaborative and able to engage a wide variety of stakeholders with ability to influence
  • Knowledge of and direct experience of the forestry certification / assurance sector would be a bonus
  • We consider qualifications by experience to be as relevant as any formal qualifications
  • Professional marketing qualification e.g. CIM (or working towards)
  • Experience in a similar B2B marketing role either client or agency
  • Demonstrable experience of leading/ project managing high quality and impactful campaigns/ marketing projects
  • Experience of running B2B marketing campaigns, ideally with some knowledge of campaigns outside of the UK
  • Experience across the full marketing mix and of delivering integrated campaigns including digital and social
  • Excellent writer with proven experience of writing effective and creative copy with strong attention to detail
  • Experience of delivering email marketing campaigns and of using email tools, ideally Campaign Monitor, effectively target audiences and messages
  • Understanding of website CMS tools (Umbraco or similar)
  • Knowledge of and direct experience of the international forestry certification/ assurance sector
  • Knowledge of FSC and PEFC
  • Experience of using Google Analytics and/ or other online tools to inform and support digital initiatives
  • Experience of Photoshop or similar software and good graphic design skills
  • Highly collaborative and able to engage a wide variety of stakeholders with ability to influence
  • Ability to work own initiative and under pressure, meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to work within tight financial constraints looking for creative solutions to deliver results
  • A strong project manager
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise effectively and to manage self and project workload in a busy environment
  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and cross functionally
  • Excellent communication skills (written / verbal / visual)
  • Empathy with the values, aims and objectives of the Soil Association
