The Category Manager is a pivotal hire to build, launch and lead the category strategy for WOO Marketplace and continued commercial growth. The Category Manager and team will Pitch, Acquire & grow key strategic client relationships.
The Key role criteria is as follows:
Strategic Commercial Planning
You will have a clear understanding of the category planning process and the insights needed to identify and implement successful category growth initiatives
You’ll be responsible for developing and executing the WOO category strategy across marketplace brands, own brand & product collaborations.
You'll plan, manage and have the overall responsibility for the category budget- ownership and delivery
You’ll conduct robust and frequent analysis of category performance to inform optimisation
You & your team will be responsible for building, advancing and closing a strong brand pipeline, as well as growing and retaining brand partnerships
You’ll negotiate terms and business and drive commercial partnership opportunities with brands
Brand & Product
You’ll source the best brands, research and predict the future trends for our customers with the ability to back your judgement
Experience in building commercially successful ranges with a customer focused approach
You will work directly with our brands on strategic projects such as Category Vision, Range Reviews, Sector Deep Dives, etc.
Passionate about team development - leading, managing and mentoring a team of Account Managers & Buyers
You will build and nurture strong relationships with clients and are able to influence and communicate at Executive/ Director
You’ll work closely with Onboarding, Operations and Product to provide insight on projects which deliver a market leading customer proposition and partner experience.
Minimum role criteria:
Established experience within a fast-paced e-commerce environment.
Proven track record of strategic commercial planning and the successful execution of those strategies
Strong ability to influence - Strong executive presence and ability to communicate clearly and simply. Ease with executive-level interactions - ability to distil complex business issues and strategies to highlight insights and measurable recommendations in a concise and persuasive manner.
Decisive and able to react quickly to changes & always keep the quality objectives in mind
Your analytical skills mean you work efficiently and in a goal-orientated way & with a strong sense of business
Advanced MS Excel knowledge
