Job Description

Fragrance is a central pillar to our brands. The EU Fragrance Development Manager is responsible for this pillar’s strategy and development aspect for our European Businesses. You must possess the skills of managing both the sensorial and scientific facets of this category. Having expertise in fragrance development and exceptional olfactive skills is a must. This individual works in conjunction with product development and marketing to drive the global fragrance strategy and implement regional executions

Key Responsibilities

The EU Fragrance Development Manager is responsible for ensuring fragrances are within price, safe, robust, and fit within Method or Ecover's brand strategy. As a challenger brand passionate about the environment, it's imperative that our fragrances reflect these values and push our suppliers to bring disruptive fragrances solutions and technologies to the table. To accomplish this, you will need to develop and propose a fragrance strategy for our brands and be able to use your proven track record of interpreting trends to come up with new ideas and evaluate the fragrance performance of our current products.

You'll be liaising with fragrance houses to develop fragrances through the briefing process. You will fragrance map our products & competition to ascertain where we are olfactively and where we should be. This ideal candidate should be able to interpret and manage fragrance development briefs and general fragrance direction for our brands. You will initiate and evaluate fragrance submissions to meet new product launches.

Prerequisites

The ability to manage expectations and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment is essential. Having expertise within the fragrance industry is necessary, and exceptional olfactive skills and a good knowledge of fragrance families and market types is a must. The ideal candidate will work in conjunction with formulation, technical services, quality control, regulatory, supply chain, sales, marketing and greenskeeping to bring the right fragrances to our EU brands and consumers.
